The performance effects of international study placements versus work placements

چکیده
Abstract To be competitive, universities across the world are embedding an international perspective into every layer of institution’s operational structure. For higher education (HE) providers that offer sandwich degrees (4-year undergraduate courses with a compulsory placement after second year), this allows students to choose range options. Students can enter labour market for one year, or they go overseas study at foreign institution. some students, it might even possible do both. However, regarding final year degree performance, which option leads student performance? In paper, we aim shed light on empirical question. Our results drawn from Aston University (UK) is world-leading in Advanced Technology. Overall, using large dataset, find who have built their programme, work has more powerful impact performance compared abroad. findings important implications students.

Making short-term international medical volunteer placements work: a qualitative study.
BACKGROUND International medical volunteering has grown in recent decades. It has the potential to benefit and harm the volunteer and host countries; but there is a paucity of literature on the impacts of international medical volunteering and a need to find ways to optimise the benefits of such placements. AIM In this study, one example of international medical volunteering was examined invo...
متن کاملEvaluating Students Performance in Placements Activity
In aneducation system, predicting student’s performance in placement has become more challenging due to the large volume of data and imprecise data with fuzziness in educational databases. Large volume of data is processed using big data analytics methods. Processing of data with different factors and with different parameters is difficult in traditional system, where big data analytics can hel...
متن کاملThe Performance of Parity Placements in Disk Arrays
Due to recent advances in CPU and memory system performance, I/O systems are increasingly limiting the performance of modern computer systems. Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) have been proposed by Patterson et al. [1] to meet the impending I/O crisis. RAIDs substitute many small inexpensive disks for a few large expensive disks to provide higher performance (both transfer rate and ...
متن کاملm-Level rook placements
Goldman, Joichi, and White proved a beautiful theorem showing that the falling factorial generating function for the rook numbers of a Ferrers board factors over the integers. Briggs and Remmel studied an analogue of rook placements where rows are replaced by sets of m rows called levels. They proved a version of the factorization theorem in that setting, but only for certain Ferrers boards. We...
متن کاملReasoning about Lock Placements
A lock placement describes, for each heap location, which lock guards the location, and under what circumstances. We formalize methods for reasoning about lock placements, making precise the interactions between the program, the heap structure, and the lock placement.
